An exact product match means that two product descriptions correspond to the same physical real-world entity. Differences in brand, model, size, color, and any other specification would all mean the two products are different entities.
Descriptions usually are missing some amount of information. If one description is missing data, the products can still be a match. Our matching model knows when to classify products as high certainty or medium certainty matches, based on that ambiguity.
Pack configurations are a bit more nuanced and depend on the marketed packaging. A product marketed as a pack of 3 is different from a pack of 2. However, a case of 12 single-packs would be the same underlying product as a single pack, with a conversion factor of 12. We offer a pack conversion AI - contact us to use it.
